New Pickleball Court & Pocket Park Coming to Linden Avenue!
We're excited to announce that work is set to begin tomorrow, Wednesday, August 26, on the new Pickleball Court & Pocket Park at the Linden Avenue Recreation Complex!
Located at 33 Linden Avenue, behind the James Sylvester Public Works Facility, this project will bring new recreational opportunities and an additional community gathering space to our Borough.
This project is being made possible through State and County grant funding, helping us make these exciting improvements to our community!
The contractor is expected to work on the project for approximately four weeks, weather permitting. Residents may notice construction activity in the area during this time.
We're excited to see this project get underway and look forward to seeing residents enjoying the new pickleball court and pocket park!

Mount Ephraim Commissioners Mike Marrone, John Saban, and Mayor Sue Carney joined tavern owner Greg Berstein and his team in a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday afternoon to welcome our newest neighborhood business to the community.

Congratulations Officer Bonczak
Please join us in congratulating Patrolman Anthony Bonczak, the newest officer to join the ranks of the Mount Ephraim Police Department. Officer Bonczak attended the Camden County Police Academy with a class of 93 cadets. He graduated the intense program on June 11th after rigorously training for 22 weeks to ready himself to be a reliable partner to his fellow officers and to provide the best possible service to Borough residents and our visitors.
Last night, at the July Commissioners Meeting Bonczak repeated taking the Oath of Office, administered by Mayor Carney before his Chief and fellow officers, his family, friends and Borough Commissioners John Saban and Mike Marrone.
Following the ceremony, he received an Outstanding Service Accommodation from Police Chief Conte for recovering a weapon with his partner, Officer Stephen May within his first two weeks on the Force. Patrolman May also received an accommodation but was unable to attend the meeting.

Members of the Mount Ephraim Fire Department will present wreaths and flowers at the James E. Sylvester and John D. West, Sr. Monument tomorrow night in memory of these two hometown heroes who died in the line of duty on July 4, 2002, along side Gloucester City firefighter, Thomas G. Stewart, III while valiantly trying to save three little girls who were trapped in a house fire.
Please join us in paying our respects and honoring their memory. The monument is located at the corner of Station Avenue and Kings Highway (Mary Bray Elementary School).

BUCKINGHAM AVENUE PROJECT UPDATE
The contractor will commence tomorrow, Tuesday the 16th with the pavement base repairs.
The final pavement is anticipated to be scheduled for the week of June 29th.

To The Residents of East Buckingham Ave.
On May 28 and 29 (Thursday and Friday), Earle Paving installed the bituminous base paving for the street reconstruction project. As the residents are aware, the contractor worked well into the dinner hour to complete the work. Typically we wait about a week or two after installing the base paving before constructing the final surface course. The contractor is scheduled to return to the side in a week or two to construct the surface course paving layer.
During the construction, a large wet soft area was encountered in the underlying soils. On Wednesday June 3, New Jersey American Water discovered a leak in an old connection on the water main resulting from a recent water service renewal request. It appears that the pipe has been leaking for approximately two months and contributed to the soft area encountered. Before paving the final surface course, Earle must remove and reconstruct the soft area in the street. We are currently working with the contractor to determine when this work will occur.
The Borough would like to thank everyone for their patience during the construction work.

MEMORIAL DAY TRIBUTES TO OUR FALLEN
We encourage residents, friends, and family to join us on Memorial Day to pay our collective respects as we remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and community. You can participate by lining the procession route, by falling in behind the procession and joining the honor walk, or by attending at any of the designated ceremony locations.
The procession will walk from the firehouse up James Street then proceed down Kings Highway to Norcross Memorial Park on Center Avenue and then move down Davis Avenue to War Memorials. In the event of heavy rain, all ceremonies will take place inside Station 45. Their last full measure of devotion will never be forgotten. We hope you will join us.
This week is National Public Works Week! We would like to thank our Department of Public Works, whose employees work year-round to ensure our community is clean, our roads are safe, and our parks are maintained. we appreciate all they do throughout the year. Please join us in showing appreciation for the mean of our Department of Public Works.
📊The 2026 municipal budget was introduced at the last meeting and will be adopted at our June 3rd meeting. Understanding our municipal budget and what our tax dollars fund is essential to building public trust. That is why we are hosting a budget workshop next Wednesday, May 20th, from 6-7 p.m. Commissioner John Saban and our CFO will host the workshop to address any questions, comments, or concerns, and to gather feedback from residents on this year's budget.
