SENIOR GARDEN CLUB
We hosted our first session of a seven-part series, last night at our Senior Community Center. Many Mount Ephraim and neighboring seniors looking to improve their gardening experience and increase the results of their efforts attended.
Tom Crehan, Mount Ephraim resident and Camden County Certified Gardener, conducted a very informative one-hour class covering types of garden beds, understanding sunlight, and garden location. He explained why setting simple gardening goals is helpful; discussed the benefits of soil testing; gave a demonstration on a variety of gardening tools and provided useful take home tips and resources.
Our next Garden Club class will be held on Tuesday, April 21st at 6:30 p.m. The curriculum will focus on how to improve the growing condition of garden beds, will include a mixing demonstration and an outdoor hands-on group activity to put the learned techniques into practice.
To ensure we have enough materials, advance enrollment is requested but not required. Text ‘Garden Club’ to (202) 368-1845. Include your full name, date of birth and hometown so we can certify your eligibility. You will receive a confirmation text. If you have never attended any of our senior programs before, you will need to complete a short membership registration form upon arrival to participate.
All Camden County seniors, at least 60 years of age, and disabled adults are permitted to participate in our Senior Community Center activities and events; located at 508 Lambert Avenue.
